Lake of Glass
I made it to the trailhead just before dawn. Cracking the door of my truck I quickly realized how windy and cold this day was going to be. Hiding in the lee of my truck, I slowly layered on clothing, micro spikes, and packed my backpack with the smallest amount of camera gear I thought I would need for the day.
Once I got moving things became much more comfortable, as my body heat fought off the morning cold and the micro-spikes made quick work on the 4 miles of hard packed snowy trail heading up to the lake. I stopped moving at the lake to set up my tripod and take some photos, and the coldness of the day rapidly manifested itself again as my hands froze attempting to set up the camera....
